SPICY BAKED BEANS

Spicy Baked Beans image

Tangy and sweet old-fashioned baked beans with a little jalapeno. They're easy to make and great at a BBQ, hamburger night, a picnic, etc. My husband's favorite semi-homemade recipe. Says the sweetness and fire create a super depth of flavor. It's not strong enough to overwhelm the sweet home-style of baked beans.

MAMA NEELY'S BAKED BEANS

Mama Neely's Baked Beans image

Pat: Every Fourth of July, Mama Neely made her famous baked beans: she'd brown ground beef and then doctor that beef with molasses, brown sugar, and plenty of spices. Let me tell you, those beans were good. And so are these. We've found that using smoked sausage in place of the ground beef (or pork shoulder, as in our restaurant recipe) adds a smoky depth to the dish. Once you make these beans, there is no going back. If you want to put your own spin on it, you can use kidney beans instead of pork and beans, but I say my mama's way is best.

puff pastry
1 (8 ounce) can baked beans
1/2 lb pork sausage or 1/2 lb sausage meat

  • bake in a moderate over for 15 minute.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality ingredients: Use fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices to ensure the best flavor for your beans.
  • Soak the beans overnight: Soaking the beans overnight reduces cooking time and makes them more digestible.
  • Cook the beans until tender: Beans should be cooked until tender but not mushy. Overcooked beans will lose their shape and flavor.
  • Use a variety of beans: Don't be afraid to mix and match different types of beans to create a more complex flavor and texture.
  • Add your own personal touch: Feel free to experiment with different spices and ingredients to create a baked bean recipe that is uniquely your own.
