CARAMELIZED BAKED CHICKEN PARTY WINGS

Caramelized Baked Chicken Party Wings image

Sounds good for an appetizer; recieved in an email *10/24/13- made with white rice. I reserved 1/3 of the sauce and in the last 15 minutes I drained all the sauce/juices from the pan and poured the reserved sauce over the wings and continued cooking; next time I will add some cornstarch and cook to reduce down and then add (per gailanng review) to get a nice glaze.*

PARTY CHICKEN WINGS!

Party Chicken Wings! image

These wings were served at a dear friend's party over 25 years ago! I asked for the recipe, and she was kind enough to share. She actually served the whole wing. I like to section the wing and remove the wing tip... I think it makes it easier to eat! So I'm still serving up these wings to family and friends, even after 25...

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/3 c lemon juice
1/4 c ketchup
1/4 c soy sauce, low sodium
1/4 c vegetable oil
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp liquid smoke flavoring
3 to 4 pounds of chicken wings

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except the chicken wings. Mix well, add the wings.
  • 2. Cover and refrigerate over night.
  • 3. Line a cookie sheet pan with heavy foil. This makes for an easy clean up.
  • 4. Arrange the wings in the pan. Bake at 400 degrees, for 45 minutes. Baste occasionally with marinade.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of chicken wings. This will give your dish a more complex flavor and texture. You can use a combination of drumettes, flats, and wingettes.
  • Marinate the chicken wings for at least 30 minutes. This will help the flavors to penetrate the meat and make the chicken wings more juicy and flavorful. You can use a simple marinade made with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and herbs, or you can get creative and try a more complex marinade.
  • Cook the chicken wings until they are crispy on the outside and cooked through on the inside. The best way to do this is to fry the chicken wings in hot oil. You can also bake the chicken wings in the oven, but they will not be as crispy.
  • Serve the chicken wings with a variety of dipping sauces. This will allow your guests to choose the sauce that they like best. Some popular dipping sauces for chicken wings include ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, and barbecue sauce.

Conclusion:

Chicken wings are a delicious and versatile party food that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. Whether you like your chicken wings spicy, tangy, or sweet, there is a recipe out there for you. So next time you are planning a party, be sure to include chicken wings on the menu.
