Tips:

  • Use fresh shrimp: Fresh shrimp will have a sweeter and more delicate flavor than frozen shrimp. If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely before cooking.
  • Cook the shrimp properly: Shrimp should be cooked quickly over high heat. Overcooking will make them tough and rubbery.
  • Use a flavorful marinade: Marinating the shrimp in a flavorful mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs will help to add flavor and moisture.
  • Make sure the butter is hot enough: When you add the shrimp to the pan, the butter should be hot enough to sizzle. This will help to sear the shrimp and keep them from sticking to the pan.
  • Add the basil at the end: Basil is a delicate herb that can easily be overpowered by other flavors. Add it to the pan at the very end of cooking so that its flavor can shine through.

Conclusion:

Parmesan shrimp with basil butter is a quick and easy weeknight meal that is sure to please everyone at the table. The shrimp are cooked in a flavorful marinade and then seared in hot butter until they are golden brown. The basil butter adds a delicious and creamy touch that takes this dish over the top. Serve with your favorite sides, such as rice, pasta, or roasted vegetables.
