Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
1 egg, lightly beaten
¾ cup Italian bread crumbs
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 ½ teaspoons rubbed sage
½ teaspoon grated lemon zest
2 boneless pork chops
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Lightly grease a 7x11-inch baking dish.

Gently press pork into flour mixture to coat and shake off excess flour. Dip into beaten egg, then press into bread crumbs. Gently toss between your hands so any bread crumbs that haven't stuck can fall away. Place breaded pork onto a plate while breading the rest; do not stack.
  • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Brown pork chops on each side, about 4 minutes per side, then transfer to baking dish.
  • Bake in preheated oven until juices run clear and a meat thermometer inserted into the middle of pork reads 160 degrees F (71 degrees C), 10 to 15 minutes.

I have not yet made this, but it sounds yummy so I'm sharing before I make it. I bought ingredients to make but as of today I need to eat the stuff I made 2 days ago first. LOL

Categories     Pork

Time 1h20m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1-1/2 c bread crumbs
1 c parmesan cheese
1 Tbsp dried rubbed sage
1 tsp lemon zest, grated
2 large eggs, whisked
1/4 c flour, seasoned with salt, pepper to taste
4 c pork chops (1 inch thick)
1/4 c butter
2 Tbsp olive oil

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Mix bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried rubbed sage and grated lemon peel in a bowl.
  • 2. On a plate put flour seasoned with salt & pepper. Coat chops with flour. Dip in egg. Then dip in bread crumb mixture.
  • 3. Melt butter & Olive Oil in an oven-proof skillet. Brown chops until golden. Transfer to oven and bake until meat thermometer registers 150 degrees F. About 20 min. or so.

Tips:

  • To ensure evenly cooked pork chops, select chops of uniform thickness. If the chops vary in thickness, pound the thicker chops to an even thickness before cooking.
  • For a crispy crust, sear the pork chops in a hot skillet until golden brown before reducing the heat to finish cooking. Alternatively, pork chops can be baked in a preheated oven at 400°F for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Pork chops can be cooked to different levels of doneness. For a slightly pink center, cook the chops to an internal temperature of 145°F. For a more well-done chop, cook to an internal temperature of 160°F.
  • To prevent the pork chops from drying out, avoid overcooking them. Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the chops are cooked to the desired level of doneness.
  • The sauce for the pork chops can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving. The sauce can also be used as a marinade for the pork chops, adding extra flavor.
  • Garnish the pork chops with fresh herbs, such as parsley or sage, before serving for a pop of color and flavor.

Conclusion:

Pork chops are a versatile and delicious cut of meat that can be cooked in a variety of ways. Whether you choose to pan-sear, bake, or grill them, pork chops are sure to be a hit with your family and friends. Serve them with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp salad, for a complete and satisfying meal.
