Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: For the creamiest texture, opt for russet potatoes or Yukon Gold potatoes.
  • Cook the potatoes thoroughly: To ensure the potatoes are fully cooked, pierce them with a fork or knife. They should be tender all the way through.
  • Drain the potatoes well: After cooking the potatoes, drain them thoroughly. This will help to remove excess water and make the potatoes more fluffy.
  • Use a potato ricer or masher: For the smoothest mashed potatoes, use a potato ricer or masher. A ricer will give you the lightest and fluffiest potatoes, while a masher will give you a more rustic texture.
  • Add milk and butter gradually: When adding milk and butter to the potatoes, do so gradually. This will help to prevent the potatoes from becoming too watery or greasy.
  • Season to taste: Once the potatoes are mashed, season them to taste with salt, pepper, and other desired seasonings. You can also add herbs like rosemary or parsley for extra flavor.

Conclusion:

Parmesan rosemary mashed potatoes are a classic side dish that can be enjoyed with a variety of meals. They are easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like them creamy and smooth or rustic and chunky, these mashed potatoes are sure to be a hit.
