Yield 2 people

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 teaspoons butter
2 tablespoons minced shallots
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup basmati rice
1 cup fat-free, low sodium chicken broth
1/4 dry white wine
2 tablespoons grated fresh Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Dash of sea salt

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Add shallots and garlic, saute 1 minute. Stir in rice, saute 1 minute. Stir in broth and wine, bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. 2. Remove from heat, stir in cheese, parsley, pepper and salt.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the pilaf will taste. Look for high-quality rice, Parmesan cheese, butter, and broth.
  • Rinse the rice before cooking. This will help to remove any dirt or debris from the rice and prevent it from sticking together.
  • Cook the rice in a flavorful liquid. Use broth, stock, or even water infused with herbs and spices to give the rice a delicious flavor.
  • Don't overcook the rice. Rice pilaf should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight bite to it. Overcooked rice will be mushy and unpleasant.
  • Add the Parmesan cheese at the end of cooking. This will prevent the cheese from becoming rubbery.
  • Serve the pilaf immediately. Rice pilaf is best served hot and fresh. It can be served as a side dish or as a main course.

Conclusion:

Parmesan rice pilaf is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as a side dish or as a main course. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its creamy texture, nutty flavor, and cheesy goodness, Parmesan rice pilaf is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
