PARMESAN CRUSTED ROASTED ASPARAGUS RECIPE - (4.6/5)

Parmesan Crusted Roasted Asparagus Recipe - (4.6/5) image

Provided by Foodiewife

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pound fresh asparagus, ends trimmed
Olive oil
Kosher salt & fresh cracked pepper
Parmesan Cheese, a chunk to be freshly grated

Steps:

  • Prepare the asparagus by trimming off the woody ends. Sprinkle with kosher salt (not table salt) and fresh cracked pepper. Drizzle with olive oil (about 1 tablespoon). Mix together. On a Silpat Silicon Mat, or foil, or parchment paper (cleanup is easier this way) generously grate a thick layer of freshly grated Parmesan cheese (not the stuff in the green can... that is really cheap). Bake at 425°F for about 10 minutes. Allow to sit for a minute and serve. Fantastic!

Tips:

  • When selecting asparagus, choose spears that are bright green and firm, with tightly closed tips. Avoid spears that are limp or have brown or yellow spots.
  • Trim the asparagus spears by snapping off the tough ends. You can also use a knife to cut off the ends.
  • To make the Parmesan crust, use a mixture of grated Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, and olive oil. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or black pepper.
  • To roast the asparagus, preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Toss the asparagus spears with olive oil and salt, then spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast the asparagus for 10-15 minutes, or until tender.
  • Serve the Parmesan-crusted roasted asparagus immediately, while it is still hot and crispy.

Conclusion:

Parmesan-crusted roasted asparagus is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is a healthy and flavorful way to enjoy asparagus, and the Parmesan crust adds a touch of elegance. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
