PARMESAN CATFISH FILETS

Being a southerner with a bunch of fishermen in my family, we usually have an abundance of catfish in the freezer. I decided if tilapia could be parmesan encrusted, so could catfish. My mom and I prefer these over fried catfish.

PARMESAN CATFISH FILETS

Categories     Fish

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/2 c parmesan grated cheese
2 large catfish filets
1 tsp butter
1 can(s) cooking spray

Steps:

  • 1. Wash catfish filets and then roll in parmesan cheese.
  • 2. Put fish in baking dish, sprayed with cooking spray.
  • 3. Put a half tsp butter on each fish.
  • 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh catfish fillets: Look for fillets that are firm to the touch and have a mild, sweet smell. Avoid fillets that are slimy, discolored, or have a strong odor.
  • Use a light touch when breading the catfish: Over-breading will make the fillets tough and dry. Gently press the breading into the fish, making sure to coat all sides evenly.
  • Cook the catfish over medium heat: This will help to prevent the fish from overcooking and becoming dry. Cook the fillets for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through.
  • Serve the catfish with your favorite dipping sauce: Some popular options include tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, or lemon juice. You can also serve the catfish with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a salad.

Conclusion:

Parmesan catfish fillets are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of crispy breading, flaky fish, and melted parmesan cheese is sure to please everyone at the table. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty meal, give parmesan catfish fillets a try!
