Time 45m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 full rack baby back ribs
2 lemons
1 cup kosher salt
2 tablespoons black peppercorns
2 bay leaves
Prepared glaze, for finishing, optional

Steps:

  • Put the ribs in a large stockpot and fill with enough cold water to cover. Squeeze the lemons into a bowl and strain the juice into the pot; add the lemon rinds as well (remove any seeds). Add the salt, peppercorns and bay leaves and bring to a boil. Boil until the ribs are slightly soft but not falling apart, about 25 minutes.
  • Prepare a grill for high heat.
  • Transfer the ribs to the grill, meatier-side down. Grill for 10 minutes; brush with glaze if you like and then grill another 3 minutes. The finished ribs should be at least 165 degrees F in the center; you don't want to char the meat, but you want it to fall apart.

PARBOILED BABY BACK RIBS - OVEN

This is the BEST way to par boil ribs ever! So tender, all you need is a fork.

Time 3h

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 slab of baby back ribs
1 bottle sweet baby rays honey bbq sauce
1 bottle sweet baby rays honey chipotle bbq sauce
3 pinch chili powder (to taste)
15 clove garlic
1 sweet vadilia onion - chopped in quarters
a lot of salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Remove the silver lining off the back of the baby back ribs. I find it easiest to make a long incision down the middle and remove it in two parts. Cut the ribs into 4 sections (about 3 - 4 ribs per portion)
  • 2. Put the ribs in a large stock pot and cover with water. Combine the Garlic cloves, onion, salt, pepper and any other seasoning you like to use (I like Cavenders). Bring to a rolling boil, cover and simmer for an hour. Preheat your oven to 250
  • 3. Take 2 large pieces of aluminum foil and put two sections of ribs in each. Slather the ribs with equal parts of the two Sweet Baby Ray's sauces. NOTE - you don't have to use both, I just like mine sweet and spicy! Sprinkle a little chili powder on top and tightly seal the aluminum packets.
  • 4. Cook for 2 hours at 250 degrees. Remove and put your oven on broil. Open up the aluminum packets but do not remove the ribs. They will now go in the broiler to give the tops a nice crispy finish. Eye it, it can take anywhere from 2-5 minutes depending on how you like them.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality baby back ribs for the best results.
  • Parboiling the ribs before cooking helps to tenderize them and reduce cooking time.
  • Use a flavorful rub to enhance the taste of the ribs.
  • Cook the ribs slowly over low heat to ensure they are cooked through and fall off the bone.
  • Baste the ribs periodically with a mixture of apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to keep them moist and flavorful.
  • Serve the ribs with your favorite sides, such as coleslaw, potato salad, or baked beans.

Conclusion:

Parboiled baby back ribs are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. By following these tips, you can create fall-off-the-bone ribs that are sure to impress your family and friends. So fire up your grill or smoker and get ready to enjoy some amazing ribs!
