Tips:

  • Use high-quality tomatoes: The quality of the tomatoes you use will have a big impact on the final flavor of your sauce. Look for ripe, flavorful tomatoes with a deep red color.
  • Roast your tomatoes: Roasting tomatoes intensifies their flavor and sweetness. To roast tomatoes, simply toss them with olive oil and salt, then roast them in a preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-30 minutes, or until they are softened and slightly charred.
  • Use a good quality olive oil: Olive oil is an important ingredient in pizza sauce, so it's important to use a good quality oil that has a rich flavor. Extra virgin olive oil is the best choice.
  • Add plenty of garlic: Garlic is another essential ingredient in pizza sauce. It adds a delicious savory flavor. Use fresh garlic whenever possible, and don't be afraid to use a lot of it.
  • Use fresh herbs: Fresh herbs add a bright, flavorful touch to pizza sauce. Oregano, basil, and thyme are all good choices. Add them to the sauce at the end of cooking, so they retain their flavor.
  • Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes: Simmering the sauce for at least 30 minutes allows the flavors to meld and develop. This will result in a more flavorful sauce.

Conclusion:

Making your own pizza sauce is easy and rewarding. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious, flavorful sauce that will take your pizzas to the next level. So next time you're making pizza, don't just reach for the jarred sauce. Instead, take the time to make your own. You won't be disappointed.
