GRANDMA'S CRANBERRY-ORANGE GELATIN SALAD

Grandma's Cranberry-Orange Gelatin Salad image

My grandmother made this salad every Thanksgiving. It is delicious even without its creamy topping. This side dish is so yummy, I sometimes make it even when it's not Thanksgiving! Depending on your salad's shape, you can spread the topping in a layer over the Jell-O; or if you use a ring mold, put the topping in the center. Alternately, you could serve the topping in a bowl on the side, so it's optional.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will ensure that your salad is flavorful and delicious.
  • Don't overcook the cranberries. They should be cooked until they are just tender, but not mushy.
  • Let the salad chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the gelatin to set.
  • Serve the salad with a dollop of whipped cream or sour cream. This will add a touch of richness and creaminess.
  • Garnish the salad with fresh mint or cranberries. This will add a pop of color and flavor.

Conclusion:

Pam's Cranberry and Orange Gelatin Salad is a classic holiday dish that is always a hit. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. The salad is a great way to use up leftover cranberries and oranges, and it is also a healthy and refreshing side dish.
