Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes are best for oven brown potatoes because they hold their shape well and have a fluffy texture.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: This will help them cook evenly. Aim for 1-inch cubes.
  • Soak the potatoes in cold water: This will help remove excess starch and prevent the potatoes from sticking together. Be sure to drain the potatoes thoroughly before cooking.
  • Season the potatoes generously: Use a combination of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. If you are adventurous, feel free to add one of the many other seasonings recommended in the article, such as rosemary, thyme, or chili powder.
  • Toss the potatoes in oil: This will help them brown and crisp up in the oven.
  • Bake the potatoes at a high temperature: This will help them cook quickly and evenly. Aim for 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Stir the potatoes occasionally: This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from sticking to the pan.
  • Cook the potatoes until they are tender and browned: This should take about 25-30 minutes.
  • Serve the potatoes immediately: They are best enjoyed hot and crispy.

Conclusion:

Oven brown potatoes are a delicious and easy side dish that can be enjoyed with a variety of meals. They are perfect for weeknight dinners, potlucks, and holiday gatherings. Experiment with the seasonings to create unique oven brown potato recipes that your family and friends will love.
