Steps:
- Crush the Oreos into crumbs and small pieces.
- Using an electric mixer, whip cream cheese until fluffy. Whip in butter until fluffy.
- Mix in powdered sugar.
- Fold in Cool Whip until completely incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, pudding, and vanilla until smooth.
- Stir the two mixtures together.
- Add 3/4 of the Oreos and stir until they are completely distributed.
- Transfer the mixture into whatever bowl you will be serving the dessert in and then top with the remaining Oreos.
- Chill in the fridge for 3 hours.
Tips:
- Choose the right Oreos: Double-Stuf Oreos are the classic choice for dirt cake, but you can use any type of Oreo you like. If you want a richer flavor, try using Golden Oreos. For a more chocolatey flavor, try using Chocolate Oreos.
- Crush the Oreos finely: You want the Oreos to be fine crumbs, so that they resemble dirt. You can use a food processor or a rolling pin to crush the Oreos.
- Use a good quality pudding mix: The pudding mix is the base of the dirt cake, so it's important to use a good quality mix. Look for a mix that is made with real ingredients, and avoid mixes that are made with artificial flavors and colors.
- Don't overmix the pudding: Overmixing the pudding will make it tough. Mix the pudding just until it is thickened.
- Chill the dirt cake before serving: Chilling the dirt cake will help it to set and will also make it easier to slice.
Conclusion:
Oreo dirt cake is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make, and it's always a hit with kids and adults alike. With its chocolatey, creamy, and crunchy layers, Oreo dirt cake is a delicious and satisfying dessert that is sure to please everyone.
