CRANBERRY ORANGE VODKA

Categories     Citrus     Christmas

Number Of Ingredients 7

Ingredients
nocoupons
1 pound fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract, or 1 vanilla bean, split
2 oranges, peels cut into 2-inch strips
1 (750-ml) bottle vodka

Steps:

  • Directions Place cranberries, sugar and vanilla in a medium saucepan. Place pan over medium heat and stir. Simmer cranberry mixture until the berries burst, about 5 to 6 minutes. Place orange peels in a large glass container with an airtight lid, or large mason jars with lids. Pour vodka over the orange peels. Allow the cranberry mixture to cool. Pour the cooled mixture into the glass container(s). Cover tightly and set aside for 1 week. After 1 week, strain out the cranberries sand orange peels and pour mixture into a clean bottle, using a funnel. Store vodka in the refrigerator.

Tips:

  • Use ripe oranges for the best flavor. Look for oranges that are heavy for their size and have a deep orange color.
  • Zest the oranges before juicing them. This will help release the essential oils from the peel and give the vodka a more intense orange flavor.
  • Use a high-quality vodka. A good vodka will be smooth and have a clean flavor that won't overpower the orange flavor.
  • Let the vodka infuse for at least 24 hours, or up to 2 weeks. The longer the vodka infuses, the more intense the orange flavor will be.
  • Serve the vodka chilled. Orange vodka is a great addition to cocktails, or it can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks.

Conclusion:

Orange vodka is a delicious and easy-to-make infused vodka that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful vodka that is sure to impress your friends and family. So next time you're looking for a new and exciting way to enjoy vodka, give orange vodka a try!
