Steps:
- 1. Dissolve jello in hot water and juice combination. Add softened orange sherbet. Refrigerated till consistency of egg whites
- 2. remove jello mixture from refrigerator and fold in whipped topping and drained mandarian oranges
- 3. refrigerate till set .
Tips:
- Use ripe oranges. Ripe oranges have a sweeter flavor and will produce a more flavorful sherbet.
- Zest the oranges before juicing them. The zest contains the most flavor, so be sure to add it to the sherbet mixture.
- Use a fine-mesh strainer to strain the orange juice. This will remove any pulp or seeds from the juice.
- Chill the orange juice and the sherbet base before churning. This will help the sherbet to set up properly.
- Churn the sherbet according to the manufacturer's instructions. Over-churning can make the sherbet icy.
- Freeze the sherbet for at least 4 hours before serving. This will allow the sherbet to firm up and develop its full flavor.
