ORANGE-MINT DRINK
This is a wonderful Southern nonalcoholic drink. The recipe comes from Angeles Parlange's mother, who likes to serve it as an alternative to a mint julep.

Steps:
- Put the oranges, limes, sugar, and mint in a large rocks glass. Muddle the leaves and citrus by pressing them with a pestle or a wooden spoon until juicy and fragrant. Add the rum and ice. Cover with a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously, or stir, until combined and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, by the time the shaker mists up the drink is ready.) Serve.
Tips:
- For a refreshing summer drink, chill the orange juice and mint leaves before blending.
- Add a squeeze of lime juice for a tangy twist.
- Garnish with a sprig of mint or a slice of orange for an elegant presentation.
- Adjust the amount of sugar or honey to your personal taste.
- For a vegan version, use plant-based milk instead of dairy milk.
