Tips:
- Use fresh oranges for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh oranges, you can use 1/4 cup of orange juice concentrate and 1/4 cup of water.
- Grate the orange zest finely. This will help release the orange's flavor into the scones.
- Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will make the scones tough.
- Work the dough quickly. The heat from your hands can melt the butter in the dough, which will make the scones greasy.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the scones hold their shape.
- Bake the scones until they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Serve the scones warm or at room temperature. They can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
Conclusion:
These orange-ginger scones are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. They are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a snack. The combination of orange and ginger is refreshing and flavorful, and the scones are light and fluffy. If you are looking for a new scone recipe to try, these orange-ginger scones are a great option.
