ORANGE GINGER BEEF

Categories     Beef     Low Carb

Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 T veg oil
1 lb blade simmering steak
2 chopped onions
1 knob ginger, thinly sliced
2 T soya
1 can beef bouillion
1 cup marmalade
1 cup orange juice
1 T 5 spice powder
cilantro
bag of baby spinach
1 cup bean sprouts
1 bunch green onions, chopped

Steps:

  • Sear beef (or not). Saute onions, ginger. Add soya, oj, marmalade, stock and 5 spice powder. Chop up cilantro root and add. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour. When meat is tender, break it into chunks, stir in green onions. Split spinach and sprouts into bowls, and ladle in beef. Top with cilantro leaves, chopped

Tips:

  • Prep your ingredients in advance: Cut your beef, ginger, and orange zest ahead of time to make the cooking process smoother.
  • Use a large skillet or wok: This will allow you to cook the beef in a single layer, ensuring even cooking.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: If you add too much beef to the pan, it will steam instead of sear, resulting in less flavorful meat.
  • Cook the beef in batches if necessary: If you have a lot of beef to cook, cook it in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Don't overcook the beef: Overcooked beef will be tough and chewy. Cook it just until it is cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Make sure the sauce is thickened before serving: If the sauce is too thin, let it simmer for a few minutes longer until it thickens.
  • Serve immediately: Orange ginger beef is best served immediately after cooking, while the beef is still hot and tender.

Conclusion:

Orange ginger beef is an easy and flavorful dish that can be prepared in under 30 minutes. The combination of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors is sure to please everyone at your table. Serve it over rice or noodles, or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
