ORANGE DROP COOKIES
From the 1963 Betty Crocker Cooky Book. These are a cake-like cookie. For variety, add 1/2 cup of chopped nuts, raisins or chocolate chips. I used chocolate chips because I enjoy the taste of chocolate and orange together.

Tips:
- Use fresh oranges for the best flavor. If you only have access to store-bought juice, look for 100% orange juice with no added sugar or preservatives.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help the cookies achieve a chewy texture.
- Gradually add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. This will help prevent the batter from curdling.
- Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in tough cookies.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
- Bake the cookies until they are just set around the edges and the centers are still slightly soft. Overbaking will result in dry, crumbly cookies.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This will help prevent them from breaking.
- Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Conclusion:
Orange drop cookies are a classic treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are easy to make and can be customized with different flavors and toppings. Whether you are looking for a simple snack or a festive dessert, orange drop cookies are a great option.
