Categories     Drop Cookies

Time 1h

Yield 2 cookies, 12-14 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup orange drink mix (dry Tang orange crystals)
3/4 cup sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 egg
1 1/2 cups vanilla chips

Steps:

  • Beat margarine, sugar and tang until well blended.
  • Add egg and mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Add dry ingredients and mix.
  • Stir in vanilla chips.
  • Drop by tablespoon full onto a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375°F for 12 to 14 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use fresh oranges for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh oranges, you can use 1/2 cup of orange juice concentrate plus 1/4 cup of water.
  • Be sure to chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • If you don't have a cookie scoop, you can use a tablespoon to drop the dough onto the baking sheet. Just be sure to space the cookies about 2 inches apart so they have room to spread.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set around the edges. The centers should still be slightly soft. If you overbake them, they will be dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them. This will help the frosting set properly.

Conclusion:

These orange creamsicle cookies are a delicious and refreshing treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, give these cookies a try. You won't be disappointed!
