Time 15m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 ounces skim milk, frozen into cubes
1 ounce mandarin orange, drained
4 ounces plain low-fat yogurt
2 tablespoons unjury vanilla protein powder (2 scoops)
1 teaspoon sugar substitute (1 packet)

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients into a blender (in the order listed) and blend until smooth.
  • Tip: Other varieties of oranges will not mix well in the blender and will cause the shake to become stringy and undrinkable. If you want to substitute orange juice for the mandarin oranges, you can do so, but keep in mind that the recipe won't contain the needed fiber.

Nutrition Facts : Calories 145.8, Fat 2.1, SaturatedFat 1.3, Cholesterol 9.1, Sodium 147.1, Carbohydrate 21.2, Fiber 0.5, Sugar 13.8, Protein 10.8

Tips:

  • Use fresh oranges for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh oranges, you can use frozen or canned orange juice concentrate.
  • Use a blender that is powerful enough to crush the ice. A regular blender may not be able to handle the job.
  • If you don't have vanilla ice cream, you can use another type of ice cream, such as chocolate or strawberry.
  • Add a scoop of orange sherbet for an extra orange flavor boost.
  • Garnish the shake with a slice of orange or a sprinkle of orange zest.
  • Serve the shake immediately, before the ice cream melts.

Conclusion:

The Orange Creamsicle Shake is a delicious and refreshing drink that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. So next time you are looking for a cool and creamy treat, give the Orange Creamsicle Shake a try!
