Tips:

  • Choose the right oranges: Use oranges that are ripe, juicy, and have a sweet flavor. Avoid oranges that are green or have blemishes.
  • Prepare the oranges properly: Before using, wash the oranges thoroughly and remove the zest. To get the most flavor out of the oranges, use a microplane to finely grate the zest.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When searing the chops, make sure not to overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly and becoming tough.
  • Use a meat thermometer: To ensure the chops are cooked to your desired doneness, use a meat thermometer. Pork chops are safe to eat when they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the chops rest: After cooking, let the chops rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute, resulting in more tender and flavorful meat.

The combination of sweet oranges, aromatic basil, and savory pork chops is sure to please everyone at the table.
