Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use high-quality roast beef. Look for a roast that is well-marbled and has a good amount of fat.
  • If you don't have any leftover roast beef, you can use deli roast beef instead. Just be sure to get a good quality deli roast beef that is not too processed.
  • Use a sturdy bread for your sandwich. A good option is a hearty rye bread or a French baguette.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different toppings. Some other great options include caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, or avocado.
  • If you're making this sandwich ahead of time, assemble it just before serving so that the bread doesn't get soggy.

Conclusion:

The open-faced roast beef sandwich with provolone is a classic sandwich that is perfect for a quick and easy lunch or dinner. It's made with just a few simple ingredients, but it's packed with flavor. The roast beef is tender and juicy, the provolone cheese is melted and gooey, and the horseradish sauce adds a nice kick.
