Time 1h30m

Yield 8-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups self rising flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
2 (2 1/2 ounce) jars prune baby food
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Pour batter into a greased and floured 9x13 pan or bundt pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, dark prunes. They will provide the most flavor and moisture to the cake.
  • Soak the prunes in hot water for at least 30 minutes before using them. This will help to soften them and make them easier to blend.
  • Use a food processor or blender to create a smooth prune puree. This will ensure that the prunes are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Add a little bit of instant coffee to the batter. This will help to enhance the chocolate flavor.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake.
  • Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This will ensure that the cake is cooked through.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it. This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.

Conclusion:

This chocolate prune cake is a delicious and moist treat that is sure to please everyone. It is perfect for a special occasion or for everyday snacking. The combination of chocolate and prunes creates a unique and flavorful cake that is sure to be a hit.
