Tips:
- Use a variety of onions: Red, white, and yellow onions each have their unique flavor and texture, so using a combination of all three will give your salad a more complex flavor profile.
- Slice the onions thinly: This will help them to marinate more quickly and evenly.
- Use a good quality olive oil: The olive oil is one of the main ingredients in the dressing, so it's important to use a good quality one that you enjoy the taste of.
- Let the salad marinate for at least 30 minutes: This will give the onions time to absorb the flavors of the dressing.
- Serve the salad chilled: This will help to keep the onions crisp and refreshing.
Conclusion:
This onion trio salad is a simple but flavorful dish that is perfect for a light lunch or a side dish. The combination of red, white, and yellow onions gives the salad a complex flavor profile, and the tangy dressing helps to balance out the sweetness of the onions. The salad is also very easy to make, and it can be prepared in advance, making it a great option for busy weeknights.
