Categories     Beef

Time 50m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 lb ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1 (7 oz.) pkg spaghetti
2 (28 oz.) can(s) diced tomatoes, undrained
3/4 c chopped green pepper
1/2 c water
1 (8 oz.) can(s) sliced mushrooms
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp salt
1 c (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • 1. In a large skillet, cook beef and onions over medium heat until meat is no longer pink then drain.
  • 2. Stir in uncooked spaghetti and the next seven ingredients; bring to a boil; reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until spaghetti is tender.
  • 3. Sprinkle with cheese; cover and heat until melted.

Tips:

  • Use a large skillet: This will ensure that the spaghetti has enough room to cook evenly.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet: If you add too much spaghetti to the skillet, it will not cook evenly.
  • Stir the spaghetti frequently: This will help to prevent the spaghetti from sticking together.
  • Add the sauce gradually: This will help to prevent the spaghetti from becoming too watery.
  • Do not overcook the spaghetti: Spaghetti is best when it is cooked al dente, or slightly firm to the bite.
  • Serve the spaghetti immediately: Spaghetti is best enjoyed fresh out of the skillet.

Conclusion:

One-skillet spaghetti is a quick and easy meal that is perfect for busy weeknights. It is also a great way to use up leftover spaghetti sauce.
