Number Of Ingredients 11

2 teaspoons olive oil
2 pounds Italian sausage links, cut into 2-inch pieces
¼ cup olive oil
4 large potatoes, peeled and thickly sliced
2 large green bell peppers, seeded and cut into wedges
2 large red bell peppers, seeded and cut into wedges
3 large onions, cut into wedges

½ cup chicken stock
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
salt and pepper to taste

Tips:

  • Choose the right sausage: For this recipe, a mild or medium Italian sausage works best. If you prefer a spicier dish, you can use a hot Italian sausage or even a chorizo.
  • Use a large skillet: You'll need a large skillet that can accommodate all of the ingredients without overcrowding them. A 12-inch skillet is a good size.
  • Slice the vegetables evenly: This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from burning.
  • Don't overcrowd the skillet: If you crowd the skillet, the ingredients will steam instead of fry, and they won't brown properly. Cook the ingredients in batches if necessary.
  • Season the vegetables: Season the vegetables with salt, pepper, and any other desired spices before cooking. This will help them develop flavor.
  • Cook the sausage thoroughly: Make sure the sausage is cooked all the way through before serving. The internal temperature of the sausage should reach 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

Conclusion:

This one-skillet sausage, peppers, potatoes, and onions recipe is an easy and delicious meal that can be made in just 30 minutes. It's a great weeknight dinner option that the whole family will enjoy. The sausage is browned and juicy, the vegetables are tender and flavorful, and the potatoes are crispy and golden brown. Serve this dish with a side of crusty bread or rice, and you have a complete meal that's sure to please everyone.
