Tips:

  • When choosing blueberries for your pie, look for plump, ripe berries that are a deep blue color. Avoid berries that are soft or have any signs of bruising.
  • If you don't have time to make your own pie crust, you can use a pre-made one. Just be sure to thaw it completely before using it.
  • To prevent the pie crust from becoming soggy, pre-bake it for about 10 minutes before adding the filling.
  • When making the custard filling, be sure to whisk the eggs and sugar together until they are light and fluffy. This will help to prevent the custard from curdling.
  • For a creamier custard filling, use heavy cream instead of milk. You can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or a pinch of nutmeg for extra flavor.
  • Once the pie is baked, let it cool completely before serving. This will allow the custard to set and firm up.

Conclusion:

This classic blueberry custard pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its flaky crust, creamy custard filling, and sweet blueberries, this pie is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give this recipe a try.
