Steps:
- Peel the rinds from the 5 lemons and cut them into 1/2 inch slices. Set the lemons aside.
- Place the rinds in a bowl and sprinkle the sugar over them. Let this stand for about one hour, so that the sugar begins to soak up the oils from the lemons.
- Bring water to a boil in a covered saucepan and then pour the hot water over the sugared lemon rinds. Allow this mixture to cool for 20 minutes and then remove the rinds.
- Squeeze the lemons into another bowl. Pour the juice through a strainer into the sugar mixture. Stir well, pour into pitcher and pop it in the fridge! Serve with ice cubes.

Tips:
- Choose ripe, flavorful black currants: The quality of your black currants will greatly impact the taste of your lemonade. Look for berries that are plump, dark, and have a slight give when pressed gently.
- Use fresh lemon juice: Fresh lemon juice provides a bright, tangy flavor that complements the sweetness of the black currants. Avoid using bottled lemon juice, as it can have a flat, artificial taste.
- Sweeten to taste: The amount of sugar you add to your lemonade is a matter of personal preference. Start with a small amount and add more to taste until you reach the desired sweetness.
- Chill before serving: Black currant lemonade is best served chilled. You can either refrigerate it for several hours or overnight, or serve it over ice.
- Garnish with fresh herbs or fruit: For a refreshing presentation, garnish your black currant lemonade with fresh mint, basil, or slices of lemon or lime.
Conclusion:
Black currant lemonade is a delicious and refreshing drink that is perfect for enjoying on a hot summer day. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own taste preferences. Whether you like it sweet or tart, garnished with herbs or fruit, black currant lemonade is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
