When I think of fudge, I think of Ralphie in "A Christmas Story" who slips and says a swear word when helping his father change a tire. This delicious creamy fudge recipe came from my friend Karen's mom, Marge. It uses less sugar than most fudge recipes and is easy to make. 1 ¾ cups white sugar
¾ cup margarine
⅔ cup evaporated milk
1 pinch salt
1 (13 ounce) jar marshmallow cream
1 (12 ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips
¾ cup chopped nuts
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Grease a 9x13-inch pan.
  • Combine sugar, margarine, evaporated milk, and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until fudge reaches 234 degrees F (112 degrees C) on a candy thermometer.

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

  • Line a 9-in. square pan with foil; grease foil with 1-1/2 teaspoons butter., In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and remaining butter, stirring after 1 minute and every 30 seconds thereafter. 2 cups white sugar
½ cup cocoa
1 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Grease an 8x8 inch square baking pan. Set aside.
  • Combine sugar, cocoa and milk in a medium saucepan. Stir to blend, then bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer. Do not stir again.
