Yield 18-24 Cookies

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 stick butter
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
3 tbs cocoa
3/4 cup peanut butter
5 to 6 cups quick cook oats
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • Bring butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa to full rolling boil and cook for one minute stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter, oats and vanilla. Drop on wax paper to harden.

Tips:

  • Use old-fashioned oats. They provide a hearty texture and nutty flavor to the cookies.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will make the cookies tough.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them. This will help the frosting set properly.

Conclusion:

Oatmeal fudge cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are soft and chewy, with a rich oatmeal flavor and a decadent fudge frosting. Whether you enjoy them plain or topped with your favorite frosting, these cookies are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
