CHOCOLATE COVERED RAISIN AND OATMEAL COOKIES

Chocolate Covered Raisin and Oatmeal Cookies image

I love cookies and having 2 little ones in the house, they make a great sweet treat for them. I came up with these when I was out of raisins but had some chocolate covered ones. I just improvised and they came out soooooooo awesome. Sometimes I will add peanut butter to them too. They are chewy and just killer!!!! Of course, I have refined the recipe some and use chocolate chips now, but whatever.

Tips:

  • Use old-fashioned oats: These oats will give your cookies a chewier texture than quick-cooking oats.
  • Measure your flour correctly: The best way to measure flour is to use a kitchen scale. If you don't have a kitchen scale, spoon the flour into your measuring cup and level it off with a knife.
  • Chill your dough: Chilling the dough will help the cookies hold their shape better and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough.
  • Bake the cookies until they are golden brown: The cookies should be golden brown around the edges and slightly soft in the center.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before serving: The cookies will continue to firm up as they cool.

Conclusion:

These oatmeal cookies with chocolate-covered raisins are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. They are perfect for any occasion, and they are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're in the mood for something sweet, give these cookies a try!
