Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 c butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c creamy peanut butter
1/2 c sugar
1/3 c packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c flour
1/2 c quick cooking oats
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 c chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars; beat in egg and vanilla.
  • 2. Combine flour, oats, baking soda, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • 3. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Tips:

  • Use old-fashioned oats: These oats will provide a chewier texture than quick-cooking or instant oats.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing will result in tough cookies. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Use a cookie scoop: A cookie scoop will help you get evenly sized cookies. Roll the dough into balls if you don't have a cookie scoop.
  • Bake the cookies until they are golden brown: The cookies should be slightly firm to the touch when they are done. Don't overbake them, or they will be dry.

Conclusion:

These oat-rageous chocolate chip cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat. They are perfect for any occasion, and they are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
