Tips:
- Use fresh nutmeg. Freshly grated nutmeg has a much more intense flavor than pre-ground nutmeg. If you can, grate your own nutmeg for this recipe.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help the cookies be tender and chewy.
- Chill the dough before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
- Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
- Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them. This will help the frosting set properly.
Conclusion:
These cookies are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for Christmas. They are easy to make and can be decorated in a variety of ways. Whether you are looking for a simple cookie to enjoy with your family or a more elaborate cookie to give as gifts, these Nutmeg Noel Cookies are sure to please.
