Tips:

  • Use fresh nutmeg. Freshly grated nutmeg has a much more intense flavor than pre-ground nutmeg. If you can, grate your own nutmeg using a microplane.
  • Chill the dough before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them. This will help the frosting set properly.
  • Get creative with your frosting. You can use a simple glaze, a creamy buttercream, or even a chocolate ganache.

Conclusion:

These nutmeg cookie logs are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for the holidays. They are easy to make and can be decorated to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make sure that your nutmeg cookie logs turn out perfectly. So what are you waiting for? Get baking!
