Time 5m

Yield 16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

6 sheets nori, trimmed with scissors if neccesary
8 slices processed cheese (eg gouda, cheddar, etc.)

Steps:

  • Trim nori to the same size as the cheese slices, if neccesary. Squares are easiest to work with.
  • Starting with a slice of cheese, layer with the nori and alternate, using 3 sheets/squares of nori and 4 slices of cheese.
  • Press together firmly and cut into triangles or bite sized squares. If serving as an appetizer feel free to put little toothpicks in the centre of each piece - these hold together well though so it's not neccesary. :).

Tips:

  • Select Quality Nori Sheets: Choose high-quality nori sheets that are crispy and have a deep green color. Look for nori sheets that are free from holes or tears.
  • Prepare the Cheese Mixture: Use a combination of cheeses that melt well, such as cheddar, mozzarella, or cream cheese. For a vegan option, use a plant-based cheese alternative.
  • Spread the Cheese Thinly: Spread the cheese mixture evenly and thinly over the nori sheets. This will help ensure the cheese melts evenly and doesn't overwhelm the flavor of the seaweed.
  • Bake at a Low Temperature: Bake the nori cheese snacks at a low temperature (around 300°F) to prevent the cheese from burning and to allow the seaweed to crisp up.
  • Use Parchment Paper: Line the baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the cheese snacks from sticking and for easy cleanup.
  • Cut into Desired Shapes: After baking, let the cheese snacks cool slightly before cutting them into desired shapes, such as squares, triangles, or strips.

Conclusion:

Nori roasted seaweed cheese snacks are a delicious and healthy treat that can be enjoyed as a snack or appetizer.
