Tips:
- Prepare your ingredients and equipment before starting. Ensure you have a microwave-safe bowl, a mixing spoon, a baking sheet, and a spatula ready.
- Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. Look for a chocolate bar with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
- Do not overheat the chocolate in the microwave. Overheating can cause the chocolate to seize and become grainy.
- Stir the chocolate mixture constantly while it is in the microwave. This will help to prevent the chocolate from burning.
- If you are using a candy thermometer, remove the mixture from the microwave when it reaches 235°F (113°C).
- If you are not using a candy thermometer, look for the mixture to thicken and become glossy. It should also start to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
- Once the mixture has reached the desired consistency, remove it from the microwave and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Pour the mixture onto a prepared baking sheet and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
