Tips:

  • Use high-quality citrus fruits for the best flavor. Organic fruits are ideal.
  • If you don't have sweetened condensed milk, you can make your own by simmering 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup of milk until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens.
  • To make the crust, you can use graham cracker crumbs, vanilla wafer crumbs, or even crushed pretzels.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can crush the graham crackers or vanilla wafers in a zip-top bag with a rolling pin.
  • Be sure to press the crust firmly into the pan so that it holds together well.
  • When you're adding the citrus juice to the sweetened condensed milk, do it slowly and whisk constantly to avoid curdling.
  • If you want a thicker filling, you can add a little cornstarch or arrowroot powder to the citrus juice before you add it to the sweetened condensed milk.
  • Once the filling is set, you can top it with whipped cream, fresh fruit, or even a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
