CHOPPED SALAD PIZZA

Chopped Salad Pizza image

A tangy Italian chopped salad on a crispy flatbread pizza with tomato and mozzarella, aka Chopped Salad Pizza. My favorite food this summer!

Categories     Dinner

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 12

romaine lettuce
cherry tomatoes
chickpeas
salami
cheese - feta, parmesan, or mozzarella are all nice
pepperoncini
olives
parsley - or any other herbs you like
Italian dressing - see notes
pizza crust, such as Flatout Flatbread Crust
tomato sauce
mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Chop all your salad ingredients and toss with some dressing. I like when it has a little time to sit and marinate together in the dressing.
  • Bake your crust for about 5-7 minutes at 375 degrees to get it crispy. If it needs more time, give it up to 10 minutes. Top with a light layer of sauce and cheese and return to the oven until the cheese is melted.
  • Top the pizza with the salad. Cut and serve. Yummy!

Tips:

  • Choose High-Quality Ingredients: Use fresh, ripe vegetables, flavorful cheese, and a tangy dressing to ensure a delicious salad pizza.
  • Variety is Key: Don't limit yourself to traditional toppings. Experiment with different vegetables, fruits, and even proteins like grilled chicken or shrimp.
  • Master the Crust: The pre-baked pizza crust is the foundation of your salad pizza. Choose a crispy, flavorful crust that can hold up to the toppings without getting soggy.
  • Keep it Simple: No-bake salad pizzas are all about simplicity. Avoid overcrowding the pizza with too many toppings, as this can make it difficult to eat and may overwhelm the flavors.
  • Make it a Meal: While salad pizzas can be a light lunch or snack, adding protein like grilled chicken or tofu can turn them into a complete meal.

Conclusion:

No-bake salad pizzas are a delightful and versatile recipe that combines the freshness of a salad with the convenience of a pizza. With endless topping possibilities and minimal effort, they are perfect for busy weeknights, picnics, or as a fun and healthy snack. Embrace creativity, experiment with different flavors, and enjoy the ease and deliciousness of no-bake salad pizzas.
