I've always loved my no-bake cookie recipe, but I was never able to place at the fair with it. So I mixed in some maraschino cherries, added a few drops of almond extract, and voila! We won a blue ribbon at the county fair in 2010. -Denise Wheeler, Newaygo, Michigan

Steps:
- 1. Drain cherries and set aside.
- 2. Cream the softened butter and confectioners' sugar. I used my hand mixer.
- 3. Blend in the coconut and cream; mix well. Chill for 15 minutes.
- 4. Take a piece of mixture in your hand, about a tablespoonful, flatten, add cherry and roll in your hand to completely cover the cherry.
- 5. Roll in graham cracker crumbs or nuts to coat. Refrigerate for 2 hours to chill and firm.
Tips:
- Use fresh cherries for the best flavor. If using frozen cherries, thaw them completely before using.
- If you don't have a food processor, you can mash the cherries with a fork or potato masher.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature before mixing it with the other ingredients.
- If the mixture is too sticky to roll into balls, add more powdered sugar until it reaches the desired consistency.
- Chill the cherry balls for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
