Time 1m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup sour cream
4 ounces cream cheese, reduced-fat
4 slices cheese, American processed
1/4 onion
1 jalapeno, seeded scraped out, ends trimmed
1 tomatoes, top trimmed off and quartered
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 salt

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in the Mini Master Prep Bowl. Secure the top and pulse 5-7 times until combined, but chunky.
  • Carefully remove blades from Mini Master Prep Bowl and microwave dip for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  • Serve as a hot dip for tortilla chips.
  • BOB'S TIPS: I prefer white American cheese in this recipe, but a one inch slice of a bricked processed cheese like Velvetta melts very well.

QUESO (CHEESE) DIP

Queso (Cheese) Dip image

This is the best queso dip! Being from Texas, I know my queso, and I think this is the one that beats them all! It's full of flavor and all fresh ingredients. You can substitute half-and-half for the heavy whipping cream, if desired. Serve with tortilla chips.

Time 1h15m

Yield 12

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 poblano peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
2 Anaheim peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
1 fresh jalapeno pepper, halved lengthwise and seeded
2 pounds processed cheese food (such as Velveeta ®), cut into cubes
3 large roma (plum) tomatoes, diced
1 large white onion, diced
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons ground cumin
¼ cup heavy whipping cream

Steps:

  • Set oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Place poblano peppers, Anaheim peppers, and jalapeno pepper, cut-sides down, on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Cook peppers under the preheated broiler until the skin of the peppers has blackened and blistered, 5 to 8 minutes. Place the blackened peppers into a bowl and tightly seal with plastic wrap. Allow the peppers to steam as they cool, about 20 minutes. Remove and discard skins; dice peppers.
  • Combine diced peppers, cheese food cubes, tomatoes, onion, butter, and cumin in a slow cooker.
  • Cook on Low, gradually adding cream, until cheese melts and dip is heated through, about 30 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use freshly grated cheese: Pre-shredded cheese contains cellulose, a substance that prevents the cheese from melting smoothly. Freshly grated cheese melts more evenly and creates a creamier dip.
  • Don't overcrowd the pot: If you add too much cheese to the pot at once, it will clump together and not melt properly. Add the cheese in small batches, stirring constantly, until it is all melted and smooth.
  • Use a low heat: High heat can cause the cheese to scorch or burn. Use a low heat and stir the dip constantly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
  • Add your favorite mix-ins: Once the cheese is melted, you can add your favorite mix-ins to create a customized queso dip. Some popular mix-ins include diced tomatoes, onions, peppers, cooked ground beef or sausage, and chopped cilantro.
  • Serve with your favorite dippers: Queso dip is a great appetizer or snack to serve with a variety of dippers. Some popular dippers include tortilla chips, bread cubes, pretzels, and vegetables.

Conclusion:

Queso cheese dip is a quick and easy appetizer or snack that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and creamy dip that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for something to serve at your next party or gathering, give this Ninja Queso Cheese Dip a try. You won't be disappointed!
