1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup milk or 1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup dried cherries
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Combine dry ingredients. Set aside.

1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter or margarine and sugar together. Add eggs, and continue mixing until light and fluffy. Add baking soda, salt, and vanilla; mix thoroughly.
