Categories     Crackers

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 6

15 graham crackers
1 c butter
1 c brown sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 1/3 c pecans, chopped
1 c chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter 11 x 17 inch cookie sheet. Arrange graham crackers side by side, edges touching on coookie sheet. Place butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until buttermelts and sugar dissolves. Mix in vanilla. Increase heat to high and boil one minute. Pour caramel over graham crackers. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake until caramel toppping bubbles and turns dark brown, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let cool 4 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack. Break into pieces. Enjoy

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the cookies will taste. Use real butter, not margarine or shortening. Use pure vanilla extract, not imitation vanilla. And use fresh, high-quality nuts and fruits.
  • Measure your ingredients accurately. Baking is a science, and accurate measurements are essential for success. Use a kitchen scale to measure your ingredients, especially the flour and sugar.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough. Mix the dough just until it comes together, then stop.
  • Chill the dough before baking. Chilling the dough will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the cookies at the right temperature. The correct baking temperature will vary depending on the recipe, so be sure to check the recipe carefully. If the cookies are baked at too high a temperature, they will brown too quickly and may burn. If they are baked at too low a temperature, they will not cook through properly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before storing them. Once the cookies are baked, let them cool completely on a wire rack before storing them. This will help prevent the cookies from becoming soggy. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
