NANA'S BANANA BREAD
Okay I know that I am prejudiced but this is my mother's recipe for banana bread and I think it is the best banana bread in the world. It uses instant milk powder, something I have never seen in any other banana bread recipes. I am adding this to the large group of recipes on Zaar to keep this safe and in the family.

In my opinion, this is the absolute best banana bread out there. I got it through a mail order recipe club called "Grandma's Kitchen". It is so easy to make, and it seems like everyone always has some ripening bananas that they're trying to get rid of!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Sift together first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Mash bananas with lemon juice in a small bowl. (You want a little texture-like semi-lumpy mashed potatoes.)
- Beat butter and next 3 ingredients at low speed with a heavy-duty electric stand mixer 1 minute or until combined. Increase speed to medium, and beat 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating until blended after each addition, stopping to scrape bowl as needed.
- Add flour mixture to butter mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed just until blended after each addition. Add banana mixture, beating just until batter is blended (no more than 10 seconds). Pour batter into a well-buttered and floured 8- x 4-inch loaf pan, and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes or until a long wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan to a wire rack, and cool 50 minutes. Wrap in plastic wrap (it will still be warm-this helps the bread stay moist), and store at room temperature up to 4 days.

Tips:
- Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can make the bread tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the bread at a moderate temperature: 350 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal. This will help prevent the bread from drying out.
- Let the bread cool completely before slicing: This will help the bread hold its shape.
Conclusion:
This easy banana bread recipe is a delicious and versatile treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a moist and flavorful loaf of bread that the whole family will love.
