Categories     Vegetables

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb lean ground beef
1 c water
1/2 c salsa
1 pkg frozen french fries
2 c dairy sour cream
1 jar(s) tostitos con queso cheese dip
3 green onions,diced
1 pkg taco seasoning mix

Steps:

  • 1. Bake fries in oven according to package directions. Keep warm. Brown and fry beef in skillet, skim off any fat. Add water, taco seasoning mix and salsa. Heat cheese dip in microwave. To serve-plate fries on each plate then top with some beef mixture, cheese sauce , sour cream and diced green onions.

Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Russet potatoes are the best choice for nacho fries because they are starchy and hold their shape well during frying.
  • Cut the potatoes into even strips: This will help them cook evenly.
  • Soak the potato strips in cold water for 30 minutes: This will help remove excess starch and prevent the fries from sticking together.
  • Dry the potato strips thoroughly before frying: This will help them crisp up.
  • Fry the potato strips in hot oil: The oil should be at least 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Cook the potato strips until they are golden brown and crispy: This will take about 3-4 minutes.
  • Season the nacho fries with your favorite toppings: Some popular options include cheese, chili, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
