MY TY (MAI TAI COCKTAIL)

My Ty (Mai Tai Cocktail) image

The Mai Tai Cocktail is a beautiful tribute to rum....fine aged rum. If you like rum, you will like this strong cocktail. Contrary to popular belief, this is not a fruity cocktail and I cringe when I see bartenders add fruit juices to this perfect drink. If you like fruity drinks try a zombie or Maui Mai Tai - but if you like rum, this is a celebration. This is NOT the original Mai Tai recipe, but it is a fabulous version . The original Mai Tai was created in the early 40's by Trader Vic in Oakland. The name of the drink comes from the reaction of its first samplers, who were from Tahiti, when they exclaimed "Mai Tai - Roa Ae", which means "Out of This World - The Best".

Tips:

  • Choose the right tie: Consider the shape of your face, neck size, and personal style. A narrow tie works well for slim faces, while a wider tie can balance out a rounder face. If you have a long neck, you can wear a shorter tie, but if you have a shorter neck, a longer tie will help elongate it.
  • Knot it correctly: There are many different ways to tie a tie, but the most popular is the four-in-hand knot. This knot is simple to learn and creates a symmetrical, triangular shape. For a more formal look, try the half-Windsor knot, which is slightly larger and more elaborate than the four-in-hand knot.
  • Accessorize: A tie can be a great way to add personality to your outfit. Try pairing it with a pocket square, lapel pin, or cufflinks. You can also experiment with different colors and patterns to create a unique look.
  • Care for your tie: Ties should be stored properly to prevent wrinkles and damage. Hang them on a tie rack or roll them up and store them in a drawer. Avoid washing ties too often, as this can cause the colors to fade. If a tie does get dirty, spot clean it with a damp cloth.

Conclusion:

A tie can be a versatile and stylish accessory that can elevate any outfit. By choosing the right tie, knotting it correctly, accessorizing, and caring for it properly, you can ensure that your tie looks its best. Whether you're wearing a tie for a formal event or just want to add a touch of sophistication to your everyday look, following these tips will help you look and feel your best.
