2--10oz bunch pearl onions
2-10oz c peas,fresh unshelled or canned
3 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp all purpose flour
2 c milk, warmed
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. In 10-inch skillet, heat 1-inch water to boiling over high heat. Add onions; if peas are fresh add peas; heat to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until tender.10-15 minutes.
  • 2. Meanwhile, prepare white sauce; In heavy 2 quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add flour and cook, stiring, 1 minute. 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
