MY GOOD SPAGHETTI
DELICIOUS!! My family loves spaghetti. I have perfected my own recipe by preparing it over a hundred times to get the "just right" taste. We like a lot of sauce, therefore, I only cook 8 ounces of noodles. We like the thin spaghetti noodles. I had to write the recipe down because my granddaughter and her son love it. For this recipe I purchase the leanest ground beef which is 93 percent meat and 7 percent fat. We always have a large piece of crusty buttered garlic bread with our spaghetti.

Steps:
- In a large saucepan, heat vegetable oil and saute onions for 2 minutes. Lift out into a small dish and set aside. (For the garlic lovers, 1 teaspoon of minced garlic may be added to cook along with onions.).
- Brown ground beef and drain. Place onions and ground beef back into saucepan.
- Add spaghetti sauce - (I use Bertolli's Tomato and Basil sauce. I rinse out the jar with the 1/2 cup of water and pour into saucepan.) Continue to add: tomato paste, worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, sugar, salt and black pepper.
- Place lid on saucepan and cook on low heat for 30 minutes. While the sauce is simmering, cook noodles according to instructions on box. (I add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to water to prevent noodles from sticking together and add salt to water.) Cook only to a la dente stage and drain.
- Serve noodles on plate with sauce on top. Serve with buttered garlic bread.
- ENJOY!

JO MAMA'S WORLD FAMOUS SPAGHETTI
My kids will give up a steak dinner for this spaghetti. It is a recipe I have been perfecting for years and it is so good (if I may humbly say) that my kids are disappointed when they eat spaghetti anywhere else but home! In fact they tell me I should open a restaurant and serve only this spaghetti and garlic bread. In response to requests, I have posted the recipe for Recipe #28559 that uses approximately 1/2 of the sauce from this recipe. Have spaghetti one night and lasagna later! Thanks to all of you who have tried my recipe and have written a review. I read and appreciate every one of them! Chef Note: After I posted this recipe I remembered a funny incident--my dear husband usually has a nice bottle of wine handy so when I make a batch of spaghetti I just help myself to a splash of it. On one occasion, there wasn't a bottle opened, but there was a bottle sitting on the counter so I got out the corkscrew and helped myself. For some reason, the spaghetti that night was the best ever. My husband asked what wine I put in it and I showed him the bottle. He nearly fell off the chair. I had opened a rather expensive bottle he had bought to give his boss. Goes to show you--don't use a wine for cooking you wouldn't drink. You get the best results from a good wine!

Steps:
- In large, heavy stockpot, brown Italian sausage, breaking up as you stir.
- Add onions and continue to cook, stirring occasionally until onions are softened.
- Add garlic, tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce and water.
- Add basil, parsley, brown sugar, salt, crushed red pepper, and black pepper.
- Stir well and barely bring to a boil.
- Stir in red wine.
- Simmer on low, stirring frequently for at least an hour. A longer simmer makes for a better sauce, just be careful not to let it burn!
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
- Spoon sauce over drained spaghetti noodles and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Tips:
- Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the pasta will taste. Look for fresh, ripe tomatoes, flavorful cheese, and high-quality olive oil.
- Cook the pasta al dente: Al dente means "to the tooth" in Italian, and it refers to the ideal texture for cooked pasta. Pasta should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight bite to it.
- Use a large pot: The pasta should have plenty of room to move around in the pot so that it cooks evenly.
- Season the pasta water: Adding salt to the pasta water helps to flavor the pasta. You can also add a bay leaf or two for extra flavor.
- Use a good quality olive oil: Olive oil is an essential ingredient in many Italian dishes, and it adds a delicious flavor to pasta. Look for extra virgin olive oil for the best flavor.
- Don't overcook the sauce: The sauce should be simmered gently for a few minutes, just until it is heated through. Overcooking the sauce can make it lose its flavor.
- Serve the pasta immediately: Pasta is best served immediately after it is cooked. If you need to hold the pasta for a while, toss it with a little olive oil to prevent it from sticking together.
Conclusion:
My Good Spaghetti is a simple but delicious dish that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few fresh ingredients, you can create a meal that is sure to please everyone at the table. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give My Good Spaghetti a try.
