MUSTARD GLAZED CARROTS

A simple side dish.

Provided by Vicki Butts (lazyme)

Categories     Vegetables

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 Tbsp grey poupon honey mustard
1 Tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or parsley)
1 Tbsp butter, melted
1 9-oz pkg baby carrots, cooked and drained

Steps:

  • 1. Blend mustard, dill and margarine.
  • 2. Toss with hot carrots.
  • 3. Serve immediately.

Tips:

  • Choose the right carrots: Look for slender, young carrots with smooth, unblemished skin. Avoid large, thick carrots, as they tend to be woody and less flavorful.
  • Prep the carrots properly: Peel the carrots and cut them into uniform pieces. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Use a good quality mustard: The type of mustard you use will have a big impact on the flavor of the dish. Choose a mustard that you enjoy the taste of, such as Dijon, yellow, or brown mustard.
  • Don't overcook the carrots: Carrots should be cooked until they are tender but still have a slight crunch. Overcooked carrots will be mushy and bland.
  • Serve the carrots immediately: Mustard-glazed carrots are best served hot or warm. If you need to make them ahead of time, reheat them gently before serving.

Conclusion:

Mustard-glazed carrots are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that can be enjoyed with a variety of main courses. They are also a good source of vitamins and minerals, making them a healthy addition to your meal. So next time you're looking for a quick and tasty side dish, give mustard-glazed carrots a try!
