Tips:
- Choose fresh mussels: Look for mussels that are tightly closed and have no cracks or damage to the shells.
- Clean the mussels thoroughly: Use a stiff brush to scrub the mussels under cold running water. Remove any barnacles or other debris from the shells.
- Use a large pot: Mussels expand as they cook, so be sure to use a large pot to prevent overcrowding.
- Don't overcook the mussels: Mussels cook quickly, so be careful not to overcook them. Overcooked mussels will become tough and chewy.
- Serve immediately: Mussels are best served immediately after cooking. They can be served with a variety of dipping sauces, such as lemon butter sauce, garlic butter sauce, or white wine sauce.
